Why a Kid's Book?

Updated: Apr 29

It started with thirty years of seeing the world through a lens — and a question I couldn't stop asking myself. I started taking pics of my kiddo around trains - which I should mention that he absolutely was amazed with. We went to train museums all over, took scenic train rides, stopped to watch trains on the side of the road and counted how many light rails we saw driving from Denver to Colorado Springs and back. So, as you might imagine, I had about a thousand or more pictures of trains.

I thought it might be fun to put together a book for my son so I did but I wasn't quite happy with the photographs in the book. I mean I'm all for, 100% in on photography in children's books but for this application it just wasn't speaking to me.

I sat down at my computer and started messing with a photo of a train and after MUCH trial and error, I finally got to something that was right. I sat back in my chair and it was right. That was the beginning of my kid's book journey and it's been a struggle and a joy but I'm proud to call it mine.
